  • Abstract:

Background: Pictograms are symbols which illustrate information. Medicine related pictograms have been developed, e.g., by the United States Pharmacopeia (www.usp.org). The comprehensibility and the usefulness of the pictograms have been assessed with adults, elderly persons and persons who have low literacy skills â€' rarely with children.
