The estimated prevalence of HCV infection in South East Asia is around 3%. It is a particular problem in subjects with previous drug use (around 70%), blood transfusions, and hemophiliacs (85% before 1986). In 20% of infected patients, there is no over risk factor of HCV infection. It is opportunistic in HIV-infected individuals, 25-30% of whom..
