Malaria remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in sub-Saharan Africa accounting for between 250-300 million deaths per annum. In Ghana, malaria accounts for over 40% of daily outpatient attendance and more than 38000 deaths per annum. Home treatment of malaria is advocated nationally and most patients only report to health facilities.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
