  • Abstract:

    The use of CD4 count for monitoring the effect of antiretroviral therapy in HIV patients is too costly in resource poor country like India. The study evaluates the reliability and usefulness of total lymphocyte count as surrogate marker for the CD4 count in HIV/AIDS patients, as the cost of TLC count is much cheaper ( CD4 = 25$ Vs TLC =1$).
