Purpose: Temoporfin (mTHPC) is a potent second-generation synthetic photo-sensitizer. For cutaneous malignant or non-malignant diseases, topical photodynamic therapy (PDT) would be advantageous. The aim of this study was to investigate the penetration enhancing ability of surface-charged mTHPC-loaded flexosomes.
