Quinoxalines have been reported to possess different pharmacological effects, namely anticonvulsant ones. We aimed in this study to synthesize new derivatives of 3-phenyl-2(1H)-quinoxalinone and 3-phenyl-2(1H)-quinoxalinethione, to evaluate the anticonvulsant activity and to compare the difference in the pharmacological effect of these compounds.
