Background: Products containing Sceletium plant species are marketed as phytomedicines which are claimed to have mood elevation and anti-anxiety properties. The absence of quality control (QC) procedures for potency and purity of complementary medicines (CAMs) as well as unregulated labeling standards permit unjustified medicinal claims for such.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
