Background
The Kappa Opioid Receptor (K-OR) was traditionally considered a target for analgesia. Studies have also shown its association with reward pathways making it a novel target for addiction management.Salvinorin A, (Salvia divinorum spp.), is the only known non-alkaloidal and selective K-OR full agonist.
