  Background

  Generic drugs are equipotent, bioequivalent and marketed after the expiry of the innovator patent and have low cost. Department of Health, UAE promotes use of generic product to ensure low-cost, bioequivalent generic drugs in place of brand-name drugs to facilitate patient adherence and patient health outcomes.
