Background
Chronic respiratory diseases (CRD) are still one of the main causes of morbility and mortality in Portugal. The prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in people over 40 years old is of 14%. A service aimed at promoting early identification of people at risk for developing CRD was implemented in a group of community..
