Deuterium-labelled studies of the biosynthesis of hydroxycoumarins during ppd in cassava

BackgroundDifferent isotopically-labelled cinnamic acids were fed to cubed cassava roots and it was observed that the deuterium (or proton) on C-2 was exchanged. The biosynthetic end-products are an indication of the metabolic processes taking place in the cassava roots.
