Healthcare expenditures have increased sharply since the National Health Insurance program was first implemented in 1995 in Taiwan. In facing the financial crisis, the Bureau of National Health Insurance (BNHI) launched several measures to control the expenditure growth rate. Pharmaceutical price regulation is one among them.
