     Acne is a chronic inflammatory disorder originating in the pilosebaceous unit (PSU). An inability to target drug delivery to the PSU decreases treatment efficacy and increases local side-effects. Topical delivery of nanoparticles is reported to induce preferential accumulation in follicular structures.
