The intrinsic dissolution rate (IDR), i.e. the dissolution rate adjusted for the surface area, can be measured using powder, discs or controlled suspensions. For compounds with dissolution rate limited absorption, micronization may be an alternative. The IDR value can be used to predict whether a drug is dissolution limited in its..
