The objective of the present study was to formulate and characterize sustained release matrix tablets of zidovudine using hydrophilic (Guar Gum, HPMC K4M) and hydrophobic (Ethyl Cellulose) polymers and to investigate the influence of different diluents Micro Crystalline Cellulose (MCC) and Talc in the release of freely water soluble zidovudine..
