    Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a leading cause of drug failure and a major reason for drug withdrawals from the market. Some primary compound-specific mechanisms linked to DILI include: cytotoxicity, reactive metabolite formation, inhibition of the bile salt export pump (BSEP), and mitochondrial dysfunction.
