The World Development Report estimated that developing countries account for almost 90% of the global burden of disease. A significant share of burden is from conditions such as malaria and tuberculosis that primarily occur in our countries. Of the $30 billion dollars spent on health research only 5% went to health problems unique to developing.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
