Social media (SM) is a popular new channel for communication and is being used for health purposes.
The research comprised two phases: an observational study, which identified public chronic disease open Facebook (FB) groups whose content was quantitatively and qualitatively analysed; and consumer focus groups (n=5) (n=36 users of SM).
