A new and practical approach for exploiting so-called useless microbial strains to discover bioactive metabolites by ribosome engineering

A streptomycin-resistant (str) mutant SY-1 and a chloramphenicol-resistant (chl) mutant B3054/M were obtained from a streptomycete B3054 by inducing str mutation at 200Î¼g/mL streptomycin and by inducing chl mutation at 20Î¼g/mL chloramphenicol respectively. SY-1 and B3054/M showed obvious difference in both morphology and color from B3054 and ..
