Academic motivation plays an important role in student learning and is influenced by various factors.
Following ethics approval, one-to-one semi-structured interviews were conducted (non-probability sampling), recorded, transcribed and analysed thematically. A deductive approach using self-determination theory and a data driven inductive approach..
