E-prescribing, also known as Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE), is generally accompanied by clinical decision support (CDS). Implementation of CPOE/CDS is an important strategy to improve patient safety. It may result in medication error reduction up to 81% over time, by reducing administrative errors (improved legibility), transcribing..
