Background: Cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) in rheumatic diseases is a significant risk predictor related to sudden cardiac death. The potential association between CAN and peripheral sympathetic neuropathy has not been investigated in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) with the few studies yielding inconsistent..
