    BACKGROUND: Rabeprazole sodium (Rab) is a new proton pump inhibitor. Several oral dosage forms of Rab have been approved. However, they may have low bioavailability and long onset time because Rab has obvious hepatic first-pass effect and is not stable in acidic media.
