Background: Danshen-Sanqi combinations are used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to treat cardiovascular complications. Individually, the herbs have shown anti-inflammatory activity. However, the synergistic contribution of this traditional paired-herb has not been well supported by scientific evidence.
