    GBS current guidelines recommend penicillin as the drug of choice for neonatal GBS infection prevention. Nonetheless, when compared to penicillin, cefazolin displays similar pharmacokinetics, has less incidence of anaphylaxis and a narrow spectrum of antimicrobial therapy.
