  Diltiazem hydrochloride (DLT)
  is a class III anti-anginal, and a class IV antiarrhythmic calcium channel blocker undergoing extensive first pass metabolism with an absolute bioavailability of 40%.
  
  Formulating
  DLT
  in the form of
  intranasal niosomal
  dosage form may offer an alternative to the oral route, since niosomes protect the hydrophilic drug
