    I. Background:

    Worldwide most of all medication orders are handwritten on prescription sheets and transcribed by nurses. Errors in the transcription process have a high potential to harm patient safety.
    II. Aims:

    As paediatric patients are particularly vulnerable, we evaluated the process of transcription on a paediatric ward.
