Impact of community pharmacists’ knowledge on self-reported antibiotic dispensing practice

BackgroundPharmacists in Sri Lanka continue to illegally dispense antibiotics without a prescription.
MethodsA random sample of 342 pharmacies in Sri Lanka were surveyed using a self-administered questionnaire on their antibiotic knowledge and dispensing practice.
ResultsA total of 265 (210 pharmacists, 55 other staff) responded. Mean antibiotic.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
