156 countries have developed essential medicines (EM) lists. Challenges remain due to poor availability, unaffordable prices and poor quality. People are exposed to unnecessary harm, inappropriate treatment and financial losses. We propose to define Neglected Essential Medicines (NEMs) as “Essential medicines that cannot be sourced, or made..
