    Probiotics are live microorganisms that confer health benefits on the host. They have been shown to confer advantages in the treatment of diseases such as diarrhoea. Evidence suggests that their use have been extensive in countries with developed healthcare systems. However in developing countries like Nigeria, their use seems to be limited.
