    Background:

    The monoclonal antibody trastuzumab is associated with a reduced risk of recurrence and increased survival in HER2 positive breast cancer patients. Although generally well tolerated, trastuzumab may cause cardiotoxicity, leading to treatment discontinuation, which can deprive patients of the benefits of this therapy.
