  • Abstract:

Dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca) is a disorder of the tear. Tear deficiency irritates the external surface of the eye causing discomfort, pain and visual disturbance. Current management includes use of ocular lubricants (OLs) or artificial tear eye drops which need to be administered frequently focusing on their rewetting function.
