Rapid advances in the understanding of genetic variation affecting drug responses and the development of new technologies (real-time PCR, DNA chips) are converging to envisage new in vitro diagnostic assays. Genetic factors modifying the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drug reactions could explain the interindividual variation of drug..
