Background
No major renal societies have created guidelines for the management of uremic pruritus in haemodialysis patients. In patients with CKD and itching that persists despite attempts to correct calcium and phosphate balance and treatment with emollient creams, Gabapentin is the first drug of choice based upon the results of a controlled trial.
