  Background

  Antithyroid drugs (ATDs) includes methimazole (MMI), carbimazole (CMZ), and propylthiouracil (PTU). Adverse effects of ATDs can be divided into common, minor allergic side effects and rare but serious toxic events such as hepatic damage that may be fatal.
