• Abstract:

  Background: Prevalence of type 2 diabetes is increasing worldwide (by 2% in the Czech Republic every year). Research shows that 40% of people are not screened for risk factors, and currently 250,000 diabetics remain unrecognised. Diabetes is frequently diagnosed at a late stage with complications; thus therapy can become costly and unsatisfactory.
