Carlos Lacava is Pharmaceutical Chemist since 1988. He has been a member of the board of Uruguayan pharmacists association (Asociación de Química y Farmacia del Uruguay, AQFU) since he started his professional life. He had worked in many positions in this association, becoming President from 1994 to 1996. Since 2013 he has participated actively in the discussion of the role of Pharmacists in marijuana distribution as it is presented in the new law for marijuana regulation. Last year he has started the Diploma in Public Drug Policy from the Latin-American Faculty of Social Sciences (Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, FLACSO)
