Dai John BPharm LLM PhD is Professor of Pharmacy and Deputy Dean (Deputy Head of School) at Cardiff University’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wales, UK. He is the Vice-President of the Academic Pharmacy Section (AcPS) of FIP and a member of the FIP Board of Pharmaceutical Practice. Dai has received professional recognition through having been awarded Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and the RPS Faculty. He is a member of the Welsh Pharmaceutical Committee (a Wales Government statutory committee) and its Training & Education Subcommittee. He has supervised to completion eleven PhD students and currently supervising two doctoral candidates. Dai has been external examiner for 20 doctoral students and several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, a number of which have been outside the UK. He has authored numerous original research papers, other peer-reviewed outputs and book chapters. His current research and scholarship interests relate to antibiotic use, education and professionalism.
