Thomas D. Zlatic is Professor of English at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, where he has also served as Director of the Division of Arts and Sciences, Director of the Writing Center and, Director of the Assessment Center. Dr. Zlatic was principal investigator of a GAPS grant for 'Integrating Critical Thinking into the Pharmacy Curriculum,' a local project coordinator for the FIPSE Grant on 'A Multi-Institutional Assessment Center Model to Facilitate Expansion of Ability-based Education in Schools of Pharmacy,” and a mentor in the follow-up FIPSE Grant, “Mentoring Partnerships to Foster the Dissemination and Adaptation of Models to Facilitate Expansion of Ability-Based Education in Schools of Pharmacy.” He has served on the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Focus Group for Liberalization of the Professional Curriculum and on the Center for the Advancement of Pharmaceutical Education (CAPE) Advisory Panel on Educational Outcomes for 1994.1998, and 2004. For 1999/2000, he was the Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, which was charged with developing general educational abilities within professional education. Zlatic was chair of the American Association of Colleges Educational Outcomes and Objectives Supplements Development Task Force. Currently he directs the ACCP Teaching and Learning Certificate Program (TLCP) and edits the TLCP Newsletter. As a workshop leader and consultant, Dr. Zlatic has assisted several pharmacy schools across the country in curricular development and has lectured in the United States, South America, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Mideast. He is the writer/editor of Developing Thinking Abilities within Pharmacy Education: A Sourcebook (1996) and author of Revisioning Professional Education: An Orientation to Teaching (2005). He has edited the Clinical Faculty Survival Guide (ACCP 2010), and (with William Zellmer) Nourishing the Soul of Pharmacy: Stories for Reflection (ACCP 2011).
