Prof. Dr Marion Schaefer is an expert in pharmaco-epidemiology and social pharmacy issues in Germany. Since 1998 she has held the position of Professor of Pharmacoepidemiology and Social Pharmacy at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, since 2002 with the Medical Faculty/Charité. Specialised studies include the identification and documentation of drug-related problems and pharmaceutical care in public pharmacies. She has also developed strategies for the documentation and data management of the pharmaceutical care process in order to prepare pharmacists to contribute to disease management and integrated care. In 2001 she initiated a postgraduate course Consumer Health Care at Humboldt University and is now working with the Medical Faculty, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Her current interest focusses on patient orientated information and risk perception. Within F.I.P she has served first as the secretary of the Administrative Pharmacists Section since 1998 and later as president of the Social and Administrative Pharmacy Section from 2006 to 2014.
