Introduction of FIP
FIP (the International Pharmaceutical Federation) is the global federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. Its mission is to improve global health by advancing pharmacy practice and science to enable better discovery, development, access to and safe use of cost-effective, quality medicines worldwide.
FIP Congress Structure
| Council | The Council is FIP’s highest organ, and is composed of representatives from all Member Organisations, the Sections and of Bureau members. |
| Bureau | The Bureau is FIP’s governing board and is composed of 15 elected officers. |
| Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences |
The Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences (BPS), representing the Pharmaceutical Scientists, prepares the Pharmaceutical Sciences programme for the FIP Congress. |
| Board of Pharmaceutical Practice |
The Board of Pharmaceutical Practice (BPP), representing the Pharmacists, prepares the Pharmaceutical Practice programme for the FIP Congress. |
| Special Interest Groups | The 10 BPS Special Interest Groups (SIG) have prepared their own congress programmes discussing their respective scientific interests. |
| YPG | The Young Pharmacists’ Group of FIP prepares a congress programme targeting young pharmacists, scientists and students. |
| Sections | The 9 BPP Sections have prepared their own congress programmes focusing on their respective practice areas. |
