    Background: Carboxylic acid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can be metabolized to reactive intermediates, such as -acyl-CoA, -acyl-S-glutathione (-SG) and -acyl-1-O-glucuronide (-1-O-G),which are capable of binding to proteins in the blood and tissues.
