    Background: Ultrasound-responsive bubble liposomes (BLs) have demonstrated superior delivery of drugs/genes to target tissues (c.f. conventional liposomes). Current progress in the field is limited by large bubble size (approaching 1 μm) and low storage stability (echogenicity ≤ 3 days) offsetting formulation utility.
