  • Abstract:

    Background
    Pregnant women in Japan requiring hospitalization for threatened labor often receive continuous infusions of ritodrine, a β2-selective agonist. Ritodrine can cross the placenta and its pharmacological effects in neonates can include tachycardia, hypoglycemia, and intestinal paralysis, which are matters of major concern.
